Hope Grows When Women Are Given the Opportunity to Lead

On 22 July 2026, NUWEBIZ Foundation, as an implementing partner of the GROW Project Uganda, visited Palorinya Refugee Settlement in Obongi District. Working alongside settlement leadership, women representatives from different business groups and zones within the settlement came together to establish the Women Entrepreneurs Platforms (WEPs) and democratically elected their leaders to represent and champion women entrepreneurs’ interests across the settlement.

WEPs give women entrepreneurs a stronger voice by creating opportunities for networking, mentorship, knowledge sharing, access to business information, and stronger links to opportunities under the GROW Project and beyond. With support from Pearl Bank, participants also received financial literacy training and learned about business financing opportunities to help grow their enterprises.
